Ward 1 · Municipal election 2026

Listening. Leading.
Delivering results.

I’m committed to listening first, then working with this community to build a stronger, better-connected Ward 1, street by street.

My story

Community-first leadership

Growing up in Barrie, I’ve watched these neighbourhoods change. As we’ve grown, new pressures have arrived, traffic on residential streets, aging infrastructure, and the rising cost of staying in the community we love.

My work has always come back to one thing: solving problems by getting the right people in the same room. Local government works best when it’s transparent and easy to reach, and I’m running to make sure your voice isn’t just heard, but is the reason decisions get made.

Priorities

What I'll work on first

Six commitments, drawn from what residents raise most often at the door. Each one has a costed plan behind it.

Traffic & road safety

The issue raised at more doors than any other. Traffic calming on residential streets, safer crossings at every school, and sidewalks that connect where people actually walk — with a published timeline for each.

Responsible growth

Development that respects the character of existing neighbourhoods while planning honestly for the people arriving next.

Affordable living

More housing options and steadier costs, so young families and seniors can afford to stay.

Parks & recreation

Protecting green space and investing in recreation that serves every age group.

Infrastructure

Prioritising essential repairs and long-term water, sewer and road upgrades.

Transparent government

Quarterly town halls, plain-language budget updates, and a straight answer about how every dollar is spent; published before the vote, not after it.

From the doorstep

What residents are saying

Brent was the first person to explain the waterfront plan in a way that made sense — and the first to ask what we thought of it before anything was decided.

Michael T. — Waterfront

Traffic on our street has become a real worry for families. We need someone who will listen, and then actually act.

Sarah J. — Mapleview

Finally, a candidate who talks about infrastructure before it breaks instead of after.

Elena R. — South Hill
The ward

Focused on Ward 1

Established streets, busy schools, and a shoreline that belongs to everyone. I’m here to protect what already works while making the investments this ward has been waiting on.
